Bank sees small increase in lending data

The January 2013 data shows that lending rose by £0.6 billion compare to £0.8 billion in the previous 6- month average.

The Bank Of England recently announced its last stand alone Lending to Individuals statistics.

The January 2013 data shows that lending rose by £0.6 billion compare to £0.8 billion in the previous 6- month average.

Within that lending, that secured on dwellings rose only by £0.1 billion to a gross amount of £12.3 billion – compared to previous 6 month average of £11.8 billion.

Repayments in January were £12.5 billion, up from the 6 month average of £11.3 billion.

Approvals

The number of loan approvals for house purchases however declined to 54,719 over the month of January, but did manage to increase over the previous 6 month average of 51,344.

The approvals also decreased on remortgages in January down to 25,573, which was also lower then the previous 6 month average.
