Nationwide Index: House price rise slowing in October

The Nationwide Building Society has reported in their house price index that the rate of growth in house prices has started to slow with a 0.4% increase in October, compared to 0.9% in September and 1.4% in July and August – leading to a possible plateau in values in the autumn month.

However the year on year figures show that the UK house prices where higher, being 2% higher than last year – showing the first annual rise for 19 months.
