How to take Advantage of the Golden Ratio

When you really consider it, one of the coolest facets of architecture is the ability to have buildings be so different – so varied in terms of size, shape, and style – and yet so similar at their core. No matter who has designed the building, it is constructed from a blueprint. No matter what the structure looks like once it’s finished, it’s still is assembled from a collection of natural materials. No matter what the building’s eventual purpose is, the golden ratio was most likely used to determine its proportions. This ratio is 1:1.61,  a ratio which occurs over and over again in nature. It is found in everything from the shape of our universe and  even the proportions of the human body. Humans have incorporated it into everything from mathematics, to artwork, and music. Thus, this ratio is rooted in architecture’s fundamental principles. It can also be found in...

Interior design

Ideas on Interior Design will vary tremendously from property to property.  It is therefore impossible to make general statements about this area. However, it is useful to look at this subject and ensure that you are focusing on your target market. The interior design of the property is very important, right down to the fittings and furnishings.  For example, curtains and blinds have the potential to perform a function well in excess of simply cutting out light (when drawn) and giving privacy. A room can be massively enhanced with careful selection of curtains and blinds.  If you are focusing on a family home, you may have to consider providing one room which is furnished for children.   Making the property fit your target market is very important.  If you want to provide one room for use as a children’s room make sure it is still very neutral, so the room use...

Should property investors fit wood flooring?

Property investors often fit wood flooring to increase the value of a property. For those about to sell a property, wood has an uplifting affect which gives a potential buyer an immediate impression of class and elegance. For investors looking to rent out a property, wood flooring is easier to maintain because the floor could be sanded and stained before a new tenant moves in. This process will make the floor look new as if it was just fitted. Wood is one of the more popular types of flooring and one which is commonly used in commercial and residential properties. The appeal of wood flooring originates from the warm and inviting feeling associated with wood. If you ever wondered why so many hotels, restaurants and other businesses use wood in their reception areas, now you know why. It is because wood is considered very welcoming and homely, a feeling which...

Clutter Control

In todays busy life style it is very difficult to give time to your home and keep it neat and clean. With hectic lifestyle, work, kids, today we are short of time to actually find time to keep our house free from clutter and tidy our rooms. We have brought for you some tips that will help you deal with this problem. How to sell a house quick!

So...youd like to sell your house? Great! Everyones doing it. But this is your first time and youll be doing the sale yourself. Nervous? Of course! The fact is, its only unnerving because you havent got a clue about the dynamics of selling a house - your house. 1 Property styling It can be used to draw attention to specific features within your home, and a clever way to disguise the flaws. A professional Home Stager would do what is needed to make it appeal to as many buyers as possible, which may involve both tidying and maybe re-decorating your entire home. The result - possibly selling faster and generating more profit. 2 Impressions This may sound lazy, but the less work buyers have to do to a property that they want to move into right away, the higher your chances of selling.
