Bank of England reports lending up by £0.5 billion

The Bank of Englands Lending to Individuals data for September was released yesterday. In it is reported that overall lending to individuals rose by £1.7 billion.

In it is reported that overall lending to individuals rose by £1.7 billion when compared to the previous 6 month average increase of £0.6 billion. Further the 12 month growth rate was 0.7%.

Dwellings lending data

With the overall total lending, that secured on dwellings increased by £0.5 billion and was in line with the previous 6 month average. Further dwellings facts are:

  • Gross lending secured on dwellings was £11.2 billion, compared to £11.7 billion in the previous 6 month average
  • Repayments were £11.2 billion
  • An increase in loan approvals for house purchases – 50,024, up from 48,832 in the previous 6 month average
  • Approvals for remortaging increased to 28,343 from 27,664 previously
