Paying attention to these things can lessen your stress, minimize errors, and ensure that you get to enjoy the entire experience.

Hiring an experienced architect should be on top of your to-do list before building a new home. An architect has the professional experience to help you fit your dream home into the site available, design a house suitable to your needs, lifestyle, and budget, and connect you to contractors who follow local regulations and construction safety precautions.  

Regardless of how simple you want your house to be, never start the project unless you have an architect working for you. Without an architect, you’ll likely end up with a poorly designed home that doesn’t promote comfort or look appealing.  

  • Program 

In the home building industry, architects would use the word ‘program’ to determine everything that goes into your house. In general, it is a list of rooms and built-in amenities you want to have in your house premises.

  • Construction (includes contractors’ fees, materials, and labor)
  • Foundation and framing
  • Interiors and exteriors

  • Electrical, plumbing, and HVAC (heat, ventilation, and air conditioning) system
